“If I were a religious person, I would thank God for all this inspiration that I’m blessed to experience. As I’m not religious, for me, this God’s Book thing is a powerful story.”

I just wonder what these men mean by being “religious.” Are they simply trying to say they don’t want to be associated with those old fuddy duddy out of date theists and worst of all, Christians? Because if what they describe isn’t faith, belief, spiritual experience, coming to grips with transcendence, then I don’t know what you call it. Seems what they are talking about is the near universal experience of encountering the Almighty but being very leery of and fastidious about avoiding any association that may not be seen by their peers, their inner circle, as acceptable. It’s kind of sad although I glory in their collection. they need to just fall off a cliff backwards (metaphorically and spiritually).
